i couldnt fit this anywhere else, but i thought it was important to put out there

God is awesome. He gave us a spirit of love, and hearts capable of so much joy if we are only willing to feel it. It doesn't matter where we are, or what we're doing; what we have, or how much we've done. We can be happy with God. He has a plan for us. He is guiding us always; we need only listen without pride, and obey without ego. Its our own personal desires and goals that make this difficult. We think we know best how to make ourselves happy. This is rarely true. Besides, we can't all be president- there's only one position available. We can't all be billionaires- there isn't enough money. God has a plan for the WHOLE WORLD. Accept your part in it, and accept God: happiness is sure to follow. Anyway, isn't that the reason for what we want: a belief that if we could only get these things, we'd be content and our lives enjoyable. Why not cut out the middle man and go straight to happy?

If you read the blogs, you already know: Mind Petrol is taking a short break from gigging. Look for other stuff, though....

First, a thanks....

We did a few shows during the holiday break, and they were all pretty darn good, and we want to thank everyone for coming. But, the hard rocking cherry on top of the mountain was definitely the last show at starting gate bar and grill on jan 10th. That was one of the best shows we ever did; if you caught it, then thanks alot!!! We Love the fans. If not, we'll do everything in our power to make the next one just as good: Hope to see you there.

Windows.....Are we getting tired of this crap yet?

We've all seen the commercials ( "I'm Joe, and I'm a PC". Yeah, and you failed an IQ test.) and read about how the deadline for XP has been extended, and windows 7 will probably be released in 2009. But this is nothing new. On the Microsoft website, it states that their products are designed with something called a "Planned Lifecycle", which to me sounds a lot like Planned Obsolesence. Remember that phrase? People used to get pretty freaking pissed when they even thought this was the case. I mean, who would want to invest in something that was designed to be useless after a certain period of time passed, regardless of how long that time period was? Apparently we would, because people still buy Windows products.
If something has a planned lifecylce of forty years, doesn't anyone wonder how much longer it would have lasted if it had not been DESIGNED to die? Why not make a product last AS LONG AS POSSIBLE? Even more important, why not BUY a product that is made this way? I guess I just don't understand Microsoft, or it's customers. But I sure would be pissed if I bought Vista, and then had to buy another OS a year later because the first one was crap, and even more mad knowing (based on past experience) that the next one could easily be crap as well.

iPhone....who else is pissed?

I love Mac's, iPod's, and pretty much everything that apple does. Yet, they are starting to piss me off. They keep coming out with new and improved devices and software, but it's starting to become more apparent that they do it all for our money and nothing else. I know this has always been the case, I just preferred it when this fact wasn't so obvious. And now they are making the iPhone available to Wal-Mart and all their loyal shoppers (myself included), and yet I stil can't use the phone on the network of my choosing. Plus, it would be nice if they would include an expandable memory slot or two on ALL their handeld products. I mean, the principle thing that has made apple so succesful is the ability to upgrade easily and still have that "it just works" thing going on. Isn't that what expandable memory would do? I suppose when the alternatives are considered, I don't have much to complain about, but it would sure make it easier to fork over my dough, especially in this economy, if I knew I would be able to use the stuff the was I wanted.
